Autism West Midlands are currently recruiting for support workers to work with our service users at one of our services in Marston Green. As a Support Worker it is essential that you have a person centred approach so that you can have an understanding of people’s ambitions and hobbies. This role provides the opportunity to play a part in a service user’s life experience and share moments of achievement.
Encourage and help individuals to achieve their goals and aspirations and to access the community in a meaningful way.
Prompt and assist service users to complete everyday tasks.
Support service users to live a fulfilling and rewarding life.
Do I need previous experience:
Autism West Midlands are looking for open-hearted individuals that share the same passion, supportive nature, and willingness to take the time to understand others as we do.
All applications are welcome however the following experience and qualifications are advantageous:
Experience in a previous role as a Support Worker or within a care environment.
NVQ Level 2 in Care or Promoting Independence (or equivalent) If not, the willingness to work towards it.
Knowledge and understanding of Autism.
You will be working in the core of our industry so you will need to be committed, flexible and reliable so that you can make a difference to our service.
Where will I be working?
You will be working at our residential home ‘Gorse Farm’ in Marston Green.
Gorse Farm has provided permanent accommodation for 14 adults with Autism since it opened in 1997.
Hours: 37.5 hours (Part-time applicants are welcome)
Pay: £7.50 p/h
Location: Marston Green, Birmingham
